Economical and efficient, Res-Kem softeners can be equipped to operate

Why treat Condensate?
Condensate systems always leak. Heat exchangers are where most of the leakage problems start. This is where untreated cooling water can contaminate the process water causing corrosion. Every system must have a method to handle this leakage. When a condensate system is not properly controlled or simply ignored, corrosion takes place. Iron, copper, and other harmful contaminants are washed back into the boiler systems. This wastes energy because these contaminants reduce heat transfer. A simple solution is to blow down the boiler to improve water quality, but this wastes heat and requires more makeup water.
The cost effective solution is to "polish" your contaminated condensate for reuse. As more condensate is reused, less make up water is required, reducing both chemical consumption and energy requirements.

Why use an Industrial Water Softener?
Calcium and magnesium are hard scale forming minerals that build up on
piping, heat exchangers, water heaters, boilers and any steam related
equipment. This buildup results in costly repairs, increased energy
consumption, plugged heat exchangers and boiler tubes. The service life of
linens, clothing, appliances and fixtures is greatly reduced due to these "hard" minerals.
For laundry and dishwashing, the use of a water softener will significantly
reduce the amount of soaps and detergents, resulting in reduced operating

Res-Kem's Zeo-Tech softeners are high quality industrial systems. They are
available in a wide range of self-contained packages configured in single,
double and triple unit arrangements. Standard features are as follows:
- Factory, pre-assembled valve nest on each tank
- High capacity 8% cross-linked virgin softening resin
- Pressure tanks are designed for 100 psig working
pressure, have FDA approved epoxy lining, are primed and finish painted;
except for galvanized, SS and Fiberglass
- External piping is black steel with MI fittings
- Internal piping is Schedule 80 PVC with a hub/lateral
underdrain system, non-clogging and designed for even distribution of flow
- Standard control is a 7 day time clock housed in a NEMA
1 enclosure
- All systems include inlet and outlet pressure gauges and
outlet softwater sample valves
- Automatic backwash flow controllers insuring proper
backwash regardless of inlet water pressure
- An automatic brine float valve controls brine draw and
regulates fresh water refill to positive shutoff
