Municipal Drinking Water Equipment for Water Contaminant Removal >>

Res-Kem is a leading manufacturer and supplier of municipal water treatment equipment, including equipment for removal of specific water contaminants. These particular water treatment equipment systems are used at municipal sites for drinking water. Similar water treatment equipment can be used at industrial sites for groundwater remediation.

According to the EPA, drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that the water poses a health risk. Res-Kem designs, engineers and manufactures a complete line of new and replacement water treatment equipment / water conditioning equipment to address the most serious of contaminants.

Water Contaminant Removal

Res-Kem specialty water treatment equipment is used for:

Dual Tank Multimedia Filters by Res-Kem LLC
  1. Nitrate removal / Denitrification - Nitrate has entered the water supply as a result of runoff from fertilizer use, leaching from septic tanks, sewage and erosion of natural deposits. Res-Kem builds nitrate selective systems and standard anion systems to address household, institutional, small community wells and municipal applications. The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate is 10 mg/l.
  2. Arsenic Removal - The EPA has amended the arsenic Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) to express it as 0.010 mg/l. Several technologies are available for removal of arsenic. Using only proven technology, Res-Kem has built and supplied drinking water systems for schools, and small community wells.
  3. Pressure Filtration - Surface and ground water can contain sediment, turbidity, iron, unpleasant tastes, odors, suspended particles, or unwanted color commonly. Generally the presence of these contaminants does not pose a health risk, but they can be an indicator of potential problems.
  4. Perchlorate Removal - Perchlorate is both man made and a naturally occurring chemical. Perchlorate releases have been recorded in 25 states and is being monitored by the EPA and other water treatment authorities. Using ion exchange resin technology, Res-Kem builds perchlorate removal systems that meet the current requirement of less than 4 ppb.
  5. Lead Removal - Lead, a metal found in natural deposits, was commonly used in household plumbing materials and water service lines. Lead and copper are commonly found in tap water as a result of corrosion (low pH) of plumbing materials. Lead and copper leakage are controlled by a treatment technique that requires municipalities or system operators to control the corrosiveness of their water. Res-Kem builds systems to insure there is no lead in drinking water supplies of households and institutions.
  6. Uranium Removal - Erosion of natural deposits of uranium has created a need for a treatment solution. Res-Kem works with the foremost experts in uranium removal and builds uranium removal systems for household, institutional, commercial and municipalities.
  7. MTBE Removal - MTBE (methyl-t-butyl ether) replaced the use of lead as an octane enhancer for gasoline in 1979. As a result of leaking underground fuel tanks MTBE has been found in ground water supplies. Using activated carbon technology Res-Kem builds equipment that removes MTBE from drinking water supplies.

Res-Kem's equipment for contaminant removal can use the processes of activated carbon filtration, ion exchange (IX), reverse osmosis (RO), and/or other technologies as appropriate for your specific use.
